Alfred and Lucile Rosenbaum were two people who loved this region. They possessed a hope and energy about the future for Meridian and East Mississippi. Mr. Rosenbaum pointed out “We think we know what tomorrow will bring, but we never really do. It takes someone willing to make a difference first.” **Donations to this fund may qualify for the ENDOW MS TAX CREDIT**

The Alliance Endowment was established for the Meridian Museum of Art for their annual Bi-State Exhibit/Art Competition. The Bi-State Exhibit recognizes and celebrates the outstanding artistic achievements of artists in Mississippi and Alabama. **Donations to this Endowment may qualify for the ENDOW MS TAX CREDIT**

This Endowment was created to fund a yearly scholarship, the Lt. Sandra King-Young, PhD. Arthur S. Young created the Memorial Scholarship in honor of his late wife. The scholarship aims to keep her memory alive by helping other young women pursue their educational dreams. Sandra was raised in Meridian with eight siblings and graduated from Meridian High School in 1984. She had a passion for becoming a doctor, which led her to continue her education and athletic career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was part of the Women’s Basketball team and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree there. In 1989, Sandra joined the United States Navy, continuing her education and training at the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She also played on the All-Armed Forces Basketball Team. Sandra obtained her Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and another in Clinical Psychology. Finally, she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a clinical psychologist after receiving her Doctoral Degree from the Uniformed Services University. Sandra enjoyed playing basketball, volunteering at church, and helping children.

Supporting Autistic children through treatment, care, and needs.

THE FREE CLINIC OF MERIDIAN, Inc., in collaboration with strategic partners, provides free quality medical care and referral services with compassion and dignity to the uninsured adults in our community. Betty Lacy created this Endowment Fund to provide annual disbursements to the clinic in perpetuity to help them continue to provide healthcare to as many patients as possible who are uninsured. **Donations to this Endowment may qualify for the ENDOW MS TAX CREDIT*

This Agency Endowment provides operational support to the Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter.

Established in 2019, the Catherine and Michael Slater Scholarship is a multi-year scholarship that helps students from Choctaw County High School in Alabama pursue their college degrees.

The Clarke County Foundation for Tomorrow was created by the Clarke County Chamber of Commerce to benefit programs and activities for Clarke County Students through their respective School systems, their teachers or staff, or to benefit any 501c(3) organization whose programs and activities will benefit Clarke County.

The Community Hope Build is a community-wide charitable initiative established to help individuals and families in need of safe. accessible housing. Inspired by the spirit of community-supported homebuilding. the fund will bring together churches. civic organizations, local businesses, volunteers. and individual donors to provide financial support. materials. professional services. and volunteer labor. The first designated recipient of the fund will be Joe Easter, with the initial project focused on building an accessible home that supports his mobility. safety, independence. and quality of life.

The Constance Wells and Lucille McKee Memorial Scholarship was established by Eric McKee in honor of his grandmothers. It is for a Meridian High School graduate or any Lauderdale County High School graduate to help them get started on their college journey.

This endowment provides support for the operational needs of the Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter.

The Dr. Gus. A. “Sonny” Rush Scholarship Endowment will provide a scholarship for any student in Lauderdale County pursuing a career in medicine.

Delta Beta Greek Sorority is committed to fundraising activities that benefit non-profit organizations within Lauderdale County.

Support first responders’ needs that do not meet their budget, and support graduates going into the Fire Academy or Mississippi Highway Patrol Academy.

Support disabled children who require medical devices and equipment that insurance will not cover the cost.

Supports the Excellence in Education GRANT, which is available the first quarter of each year in honor of Mr. Walter L. Smith. The GRANT is available to teachers, schools, school districts, and community-based organizations that focus on improving education in Clarke, Kemper, Lauderdale, Neshoba, or Newton counties.

The Frances & Cooper Williams Scholarship provides support for a scholarship awarded to a graduating student of Philadelphia High School.

Provides support to the Frances W. Davidson Memorial Homeless Shelter for Lauderdale County shelter only.

This Fund support fundraising efforts to provide for the needs of animals in Lauderdale County.

This festival celebrates community and inclusivity. It is designed to support our organizations while providing a fantastic experience for families of all abilities. Our goal is for the Friendsgiving Festival to become an annual highlight in our community.

Endowment Fund created to benefit Hope Village for Children, Inc. “Leading each child to a place where hope is born”

Supports Neshoba County non-profit, schools, and churches for the betterment of Neshoba County.

Provides access for children and youth to participate in theatrical productions at Meridian Little Theatre.

This fund is to commemorate the life and legacy of John Wesley Johnson by providing scholarship opportunities to high school seniors in East Mississippi pursuing higher education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), with a primary focus on Mr. Johnson’s alma mater Rust College.

Provides support and assistance for educational programs and activities in Kemper County as identified by the Kemper Academy PTA.

Supports community and economic development and educational initiatives in Kemper County.

Provides scholarships for Kemper County students going to EMCC.

This Endowment Fund provides support for L.O.V.E.S. Kitchen. Lauderdale Outreach and Volunteer Effort, Inc., known as LOVE’s Kitchen, is a nonprofit, charitable organization created for feeding the hungry in Meridian and Lauderdale County, MS. Fund to support tourism initiatives including travel writers, FAM tours, commission meetings, and other tourism related projects.

This fund has been established with the Intent to support special events and activities sponsored by the Lauderdale County Youth Justice Center.

Lean on Me Jubilee is an organization dedicated to supporting mental health and suicide prevention for individuals in need. Through a compassionate and community-driven approach, Lean on Me Jubilee seeks to make a meaningful impact by funding entities that provide vital mental health resources and support services. To sustain and expand its mission, Lean on Me Jubilee will host an annual fundraising event. This event will serve as the cornerstone of the organization’s efforts, bringing together community members, stakeholders, and advocates to raise essential funds. Proceeds from the event will be directed toward organizations that offer critical resources, programs, and interventions aimed at promoting mental wellness and preventing suicide.

Lucky’s Legacy Endowment supports no-kill animal shelters in the East Mississippi area. During the second grant cycle, an annual grant is available to aid in operational expenses and needs for local rescue shelters.

This Fund is designated to raise money to restore Magnolia Cemetery to the standards that the families of the loved ones currently buried there expect. The funds will pay for improvements and repairs, such as repairing roads and cutting trees as needed.

It supports the Margaret Dulaney Arts Grant, offered in the first grant cycle each year in honor of Margaret Dulaney’s love for the arts community. This grant is offered to non-profit organizations or schools serving Clarke, Kemper, Lauderdale, Neshoba, or Newton counties. Projects awarded are focused on enhancing new or existing art programs and activities in East Mississippi.

Scholarship for Boys and Girls Club members.

It supports performing arts programs at Lauderdale County Schools, Meridian High School, Lamar School, and Russell Christian.

The Meridian Jaycees have created this Endowment to leave a legacy of commitment to this community that will inspire future leaders for generations to come. Grant applications will be available during the 3rd Cycle of each year and will provide funds for leadership training, community development and projects that contribute to a more positive image of Meridian and East Mississippi.

This fund was established in response to the devastating floods in Texas. Our hearts go out to the Camp Mystic families whose lives have been forever changed. While serving as a Meridian Housing Authority Commissioner, the “Jeanell Kidd HOPE VI Endowment Scholarship was approved in her honor by the MHA Board of Commissioners in August of 2004. NOTE: Since its approval, the scholarship has awarded approximately $1,000,000.00 to deserving Meridian Housing Authority high school seniors. **DONATIONS TO THIS ENDOWMENT MAY QUALIFY FOR THE 25% TAX CREDIT THROUGH THE ENDOW MS PROGRAM**

This fund has been established as a way to give back to the community and school that Chico loved so much. The Meridian Community loved Chico because he had a heart of gold and was so pure. He will be missed and his legacy will live on forever.

This scholarship fund was established in 2023 in memory of Mildred Corley Sutton by her three sons. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a college-bound senior at Philadelphia High School, Neshoba Central High School, or Choctaw Central High School (all in Neshoba County in the state of Mississippi).

Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. The unforgettable worldwide celebration event centered on God’s love and honoring and valuing people with special needs will be held by host churches around the world simultaneously on Friday, February 7, 2025. Central UMC is excited to join hundreds of other churches around the globe in celebrating people with disabilities as God’s image bearers.

The North Hills District Association promotes dining, shopping, and retail in the North Hills District. The business owners will cooperate to keep the area well-maintained and pleasing to guests and customers.

This Endowment Fund provides support for the Community Foundation of East Mississippi, now and forever. Donations to this fund help support the Foundation’s efforts to provide grants to non-profit organizations in our community on a long term basis.

The intent of this fund is to honor the athletic history of Quitman, MS, including Zack Huggins HS, Shirley Owens HS, and Quitman HS by collecting, archiving, and sharing stories of sportsmanship and success.

The Rhonda Sheppard Hawkins Endowment was established by her friends and family following her death in 2006 in order to provide assistance in perpetuity to individuals undergoing cancer treatment and struggling with the financial burden.

Ron Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund will go to a West Lauderdale High School senior who meets the criteria.

The Sandra Welch Niehuss Endowment was established in her memory by her family in 2007. The fund supports community education and awareness programs related to cancer.

To raise and distribute funds to support the long-term maintenance, preservation, and operations of Semmes Cemetery.

Stage 2 is a theatrical training group for students teens ages 13 through college! Students are involved in committees, helping with costumes, set design, props, advertising, and fundraising. Emphasis is placed on character development, teamwork, and community service.

Support the families of suicide veterans.

Provides two scholarships to students who are affected by suicide, or are family members of the military or first responders, or students planning to major in the mental healthcare field. This fund also provides a scholarship to a student who intends to enter a trade school.

Stronger Together Foundation exists to provide resources and community support to the friends and families of veterans who were lost to suicide. Our mission is to provide an environment dedicated to helping those left behind process and deal with the tragedy of suicide by connecting them with others who have experienced the same tragic loss.

This endowment supports the Susan B. Herron / Lively Arts Grant offered in the first cycle of each year. Susan Herron spent her lifetime supporting the Arts. Her family established this endowment to honor her memory and continue improving the Arts community in East Mississippi.
